Former CNN Creative Team Starts Company Former CNN Creative Team Starts Company Three former CNN creative professionals have joined forces to create Esther+Schipp Promotion, LLC, a creative services and promotions company. The team, comprised of John Schipp, Jon Esther, and Dan Brown, formed the partnership and opened its Atlanta office, located at Crawford Communications' Plasamour Drive complex, in January 1999. ESP's work includes broadcast and cable network promotion, sales and trade presentations, and production in video, film, audio, and graphic design.

John Schipp, an Emmy-award winning television producer, held the title of Creative Director for CNN Marketing and Creative Services since 1993. Prior to his move to Atlanta, Schipp spent five years at A&E Networks as the company's first Creative Director. Schipp began his career at NBC, where he served in various production capacities before being named Manager of NBC Sports Advertising and Promotion.

Jon Esther began his career as a news photographer at Wabash Valley Broadcasting in Terre Haute, Indiana. At WTHI, Esther was promoted to Creative Director of the CBS affiliate's promotion department. He also served as the Creative Director of Wabash's sign-on Fox affiliate WFTX in Ft. Myers, Florida. Esther has also held Senior Producer positions at CNN and TNT Creative Services before being named Manager of CNN Creative Services in 1997.

Dan Brown, the third partner and silent ‘B' in ESP, began his television career at CNN's Headline News Graphics department as Staff Artist in 1986. Since, he has held Art Director positions within CNN's programming and promotions divisions, including CNN Productions, CNN Marketing and Creative Services, CNN Headline News, and CNN Private Networks.

ESP recently produced a :30 on-air promotion for CNN's latest joint venture with parent company Time Warner's Publications division. People Profiles is the latest in CNN's expansion of the network's NewsStand newsmagazine concept. People magazine follows the launch of CNN NewsStand's three other titles, Time, Fortune, and Entertainment Weekly, which are produced by CNN Productions unit under the direction of Pat Mitchell. Scheduled to coincide with People magazine's twenty-fifth anniversary, People Profiles launched its 11-week series in March. The spot was produced at Crawford Digital with editors Tom Fulks and Mark Ward. Audio post production was accomplished with M&E's Reid Hall and Randy Garmon.

CNN Financial News marked the 15th anniversary of "Pinnacle" with a gala event at the trading floor of the NYSE. The network turned to ESP to produce a video presentation commemorating the event. With many top CEO's in attendance, CNN honored the 400 executives and entrepreneurs who have been profiled on "Pinnacle." ESP was handed the assignment of capturing the history and flavor of television's landmark business series.

In creating the presentation, ESP producers viewed over 200 hours of archival videotape interviews with such business leaders as Phil Knight (Nike), Katharine Graham (Post Newsweek), Andy Grove (Intel), Donald Trump, Director Spike Lee, and Larry Ellison of Oracle, who sponsored the anniversary event. Selected video clips and behind the scenes footage were loaded into AVID for an off-line edit by Bart Hawkins, and on-line editing and audio mixing were completed at Crawford Communications. CNN Marketing and Promotions Vice-President Kristina Martin and Manager Risa Meynarez coordinated the evening's events and oversaw the production of the Pinnacle anniversary presentation.
