Video Shoot a Labor of Love Video Shoot a Labor of Love Local singer and songwriter Erik Bennett found comfort in his art as his friend, Leanna Piver, passed away in a nearby hospital room after a car accident last November. Bennett, a close friend of the Georgia Tech cheerleader and Lilburn resident, used all the emotions of the tragedy to write a song that would be a tribute to Piver, and a comfort to her loved ones. The result was "Leanna's Song (I Guess This Is Good-bye)."
Bennett performed the song at Priver's funeral and it struck a chord. After numerous requests for the ballad, it was suggested that the song become a CD single. The song was released by Remember Records, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Georgia Tech, Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, and Parkview High School to benefit scholarships established in Priver's name.
Bennett received critical acclaim for his single, "We Were There," written in commemoration of the 1996 Olympic games. It is not surprising when it came time to shoot a music video for "Leanna's Song," there was no shortage of volunteers. The group donated their time and talent to pay tribute to Piver, her family, the causes she cared for, and an accomplished singer and songwriter.
After a dinner of pizza and home made cookies, and surrounded by Priver's family, the pros went to work. Donating their services to make the video possible were: Director/DP Herb Kossover, Executive Producer Amy Reed Kossover, Assistant Director Michael Bartell, Gaffer Joe Clayton of Day 1 Production Services, Best Boy Electric, Troy Toebben, Best Boy Scott Trimble, Best Boy Darwin Conort, Swing Steve Leete, 1st Assistant Camera Norman Andrews, 2nd Assistant Camera Josh Hancher, Makeup/Hair Jaye Jackson-Pniewski, Audio Playback David Neesley, Production Assistant Tammy Thomas, Camera/Dolly Rita Braswell of PC&E, Film Stock Jennie Mainor of Eastman Kodak, Film Process/Transfer Harry Burchardt of CineFilm/CineTransfer, Online Editing Bryan Gartman of Artisan Picture Works, and Audio Post Spencer Herzog of Creative Sound Concepts.
