GeneSys Integrates 2000 Olympics TV GeneSys Integrates 2000 Olympics TV GeneSys International (GSI), a television integration company in Norcross, Georgia, was selected by Panasonic's Video Systems Division to provide engineering and integration services on their behalf for the International Broadcasting Center (IBC), the Olympic Stadium, and the Sydney Super Dome for the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. The IBC contract distinguishes GSI as being the first television integration company in the world to provide television engineering and installation services for three consecutive IBC facilities.
GSI will install production control rooms in the Sydney Super Dome and the Olympic Stadium. These control rooms will receive and process the various venue broadcasts and then transmit them to the IBC host facilities, which will act as the nerve center for broadcasting operations. Panasonic and other manufacturers will supply the broadcast equipment used in all three facilities. GSI is part of a family of companies operated by Technical Industries, a 60 year old, privately held Atlanta video and audio/visual distributor and systems integrator.
