PRSA Members Accredited PRSA Members Accredited Five members of The Public Relations Society of America Georgia Chapter recently achieved the designation Accredited in Public Relations (APR). The members are: Katrina Blauvelt, APR Director of Public Relations, Philips Consumer Electronics, Marc Marton, APR Senior Account Executive, Siemens Corporation, Alpharetta; Debra Osborne, APR, The PR Guru, Alpharetta; Colonel Steven F. Rausch, APR; and Kathryn O. Sellers, APR, Director of Public Relations, The Carpet and Rug Institute, Dalton.

The accreditation program was begun by PRSA in 1964. Members with at least five years of full time, paid professional public relations experience may earn Accredited status by passing written and oral examinations that test their competence in and knowledge of the public relations field. Nationally an average of 70 percent of those taking the exam receive passing scores.

As of January 1998, PRSA became one of the founding organizations of the Universal Accreditation Program. Additional members include the Agricultural Relations Council, the Florida Public Relations Association and the Southern Public Relations Foundation. The Accreditation program is administered by PRSA.
