Six Tellys for Weatherford Six Tellys for Weatherford The Weatherford Group won a 20th Anniversary 1999 Telly and five Classic Telly Awards earlier this spring. The accolades applaud outstanding cable and non-network TV commercials and programs, and non-broadcast video and film productions. The Classic Telly award competition marks the 20th anniversary of the Telly awards by highlighting productions from the past two decades that have timeless quality.
"Developing Good Character," an innovative video in which outstanding teen actors and an animated dancing compact disc character encourage teens to act responsibly and ethically, won a 20th Anniversary 1999 Telly. The program, produced by The Weatherford Group for Meeks Heit Publishing Company, was recognized in the health and medicine category.
In the Classic Telly competition, Weatherford garnered one for a documentary on "Gone with the Wind," one for the firm's state of the art 3D computer animation demo reel, and one for a pilot program in the nature and wildlife category. As Telly winners, John Weatherford and his firm join the ranks of other Telly recipients such as Sony Pictures, The Discovery Channel, DreamWorks SKG, Microsoft, and Time Warner.
