Cox Promotes Two Cox Promotes Two Cox Interactive Media (CIMedia) promoted Cynthia Frisina Gray to Vice President of Marketing. Formerly Director of Marketing, Gray will be responsible for overseeing all marketing, research, advertising, and public relations for CIMedia's national network of 25 city sites and three specialty sites. Gray served as CIMedia's Director of Marketing since February 1998. In that capacity, she was instrumental in the launch of CIMedia city sites across the country and ongoing strategic marketing direction for the network. Additionally, she was named to head up CIMedia ClickHaus, an in-house agency dedicated to planning and buying CIMedia's online media, as well as designing and producing banner ads and online creative executions on behalf of all CIMedia city sites nationwide.
Gray was formerly Director of Advertising for BellSouth Telecommunications' Consumer Operating Unit. With 13 years of consumer marketing experience, Gray's previous positions include Director of Advertising and Business Travel Marketing for Hyatt Hotels Worldwide and account management positions with Leo Burnett and Foot and Cone & Belding. She holds a BA from the University of Illinois, and an MA with honors from Northwestern University.
CIMedia also named David B. Hills Vice President of Sales. In his new role, Hills will be responsible for overseeing all sales operations for CIMedia's national network of 25 city sites and three specialty sites. Hills is an 18-year veteran of Cox-owned TeleRep, Inc., the nation's largest television sales representation firm, where he served as Vice President/Director of TeleRep Enterprises, New York from 1987 to 1999. Among Hills' responsibilities was launching TeleRep International in 1991, which grew to become the largest seller of Canadian media in the U.S. with a 55 percent market share. When TeleRep formed Cox Interactive Sales in 1994, the first national Web ad sales rep firm in the U.S., Hills was named to head its advertising sales for clients including CIMedia, Prodigy, AutoConnect, Tribune, Netcom, BellSouth, Val-Pak, and OnNow. Before rejoining TeleRep in 1987, Hills was President of DHB Broadcasting, Inc. operating his own radio station, WKRI, in Warwick, R.I. for a year. Subsequently, he held a variety of positions with TeleRep including Sales Manager in both New York and Chicago, beginning his TeleRep career in 1980 as a New York sales representative. Previously, Hills was an Account Executive for WLVI-TV in Boston. He holds a BA from Bethany College, West Virginia, and a MS from Boston University.
