Guillotine Kicks Off Turner South Guillotine Kicks Off Turner South
Network Creative Director Pat Smith and Writer/Producer Caroline Young returned to Michael Koepenick and Guillotine Post Design to edit the network premiere of Turner South. The five minute program kicked off the network's broadcast debut in October and included comments from Ted Turner, Jeff Foxworthy, John Smoltz, Marty Stuart, Anne Rice, and Pam Tillis. Having already completed the network's first four spots that ran over the summer, Guillotine was also awarded several more spots and station ID's in addition to the launch. With the assistance of animator Jeff Baxter, promotional bumpers were concepted and executed for Rise & Shine Movie, Lunchtime Cinemateria, Thriller Theater, and Movies Sunny Side Up. Also delivered were a number of graphic ID's linking the new Turner South logo to various images, icons, and settings associated with the South.
Turner Classic Movies Producer Ruth Anna Millman turned to Guillotine and editor Andrew Satinoff to edit segments on film star Ginger Rogers for TCM's Word of Mouth series. TNT Producer Glen Owen and Editor Sean Polinski collaborated on Trick Or Treat For UNICEF, a public service campaign featuring pop star Brandy. Editors Jimmy Milans and Fred Duffer pulled together two videos for the Southern Company with Producer John Carter of Wide Open Films, in a joint effort with Production Group International. Intended to galvanize the Southern Company's work force, the videos illustrate the use of emerging technologies such as robotics and intelligent computerization.
Claudia Cahill of Kragie Newell made her first foray to Guillotine to work with Michael Koepenick and Andrew Satinoff on a sponsorship video for NationsRent and NASCAR. Blue Marble Media Producers Cara Barineau, Ben Barineau, Helena Johnson and Denise Liggett continued it's award-winning work, teaming up with Editors Fred Duffer and Jimmy Milans to complete videos for BellSouth affiliates BellSouth Mobility and BellSouth Television. Other goings on at Guillotine include a CD-ROM and video for ex-local artist Mark Allen Henderson, who's now moving on to the New York circuit. The program features over 100 full color images cataloging the full range of the artist's work and includes animation, quicktime movies, and sound design to complete this powerful presentation. Guillotine is also leaving a mark in the art world, crafting a half hour loop for an art exhibit at Ashford-Dunwoody's Spruill Gallery in a show called "Fragments." In a purely artsy presentation edited and compiled by Christo Harris and Kimbrough Davis, the loop contains animation, short films, and music videos from Matt Lively, Mark Allen Henderson, Wild West Picture Show, and Orange Hat.
