The Society for Technical Communication has honored Rob Houser and Scott DeLoach with a Frank R. Smith Outstanding Journal Article Award. Their article, "Learning From Games: Seven Principles of Effective Design," received the Distinguished Technical Communication Award. It was published in the third quarter issue of Technical Communication, the journal of the Society. The Frank R. Smith Outstanding Journal Article Award recognizes the authors of exceptional articles that appeared in the Society journal during the previous calendar year. Houser and DeLoach are founding partners of User First Services, Inc., located in Norcross.
