Atomboy recently showed the movie track "Save Yourself" at the DVD Conference in San Francisco. Atomboy is currently working with Microsoft, Astarte Software, and Sonic Foundry to web-enable the entire disc. The most prominent feature of the "Save Yourself" DVD will be its web integration and enhanced DVD-ROM functionality. That means that at any point in the movie or in the menu navigation, there will be additional web-related material available for the viewer to explore. Although the disc will play natively on a DVD-video set top unit, it will be greatly enhanced for the DVD-ROM user. Some of the features available in DVD-ROM mode will be web links to all bands and musicians on the soundtrack, a pop-up video style dialogue, and a "How they made the movie" track. Atlanta area bands and musicians that contributed music to the soundtrack include: Murray Attaway, Lift, Kelly Hogan, Man or Astro-Man, Agent Cooper, and Epitome.
Atomboy also participated in the Real Time Film Festival in Rome, Italy in October. In early August, Atomboy was approved as an official Microsoft interactive content provider. In exchange for promoting the new Windows media technology, they will begin to use Atomboy's movies and video in their own promotions and showcase sites. Look for Atomboy and "Save Yourself" to go up on the Windows media "What's New" page.
In January, together with Incanta Entertainment, Atomboy will launch one of the first weekly interactive television shows. Called "The Live Atom" it will be a sketch comedy-oriented show aired weekly and broadcast worldwide, but will feature all local talent and music. Atomboy has also moved, and the atom-world headquarters is now located at 699 Gresham Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30316.
