Video Tape Associates (VTA) had the opportunity to be a part of something spectacular to start the new millennium: CNN’s worldwide millennium coverage. VTA took a satellite feed of every single second of the global coverage in order to produce and edit a two hour home video, CNN’s Millennium 2000, Incredible Moments From the Worldwide Celebration, for its client, The Scott Benson Company, Inc. and Warner Home Video. In a matter of days, Warner Home Video was able to offer the capsulated news coverage in 25 countries. All of the coverage was fed digitally to VTA and the finished product was subsequently fed to duplicators around the world for distribution. All of this work was managed and completed by David Turner, VTA editor; Bobby Long and Jay Hunt, AVID freelancers; and Loretta Billingsley, of VTA completed the online edit.
