Cassidy Presents Encore Screening Cassidy Presents Encore Screening
The IMAGE Film & Video Center recently presented award winning filmmaker Carol Cassidy’s documentary about young female athletes, Run Like A Girl. The film is the second installment in the Independent Television Service funded series “Girls in America.” Cassidy has also written a book, entitled Girls in America, which chronicles the five years she spent traveling the country interviewing more than 300 teenage girls with her all female documentary crew. Cassidy answered questions from the audience after this encore screening. The film originally aired on PBS in November, 1999.
IMAGE, along with the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers, continues to offer multiple networking opportunities for industry insiders and aspiring filmmakers at their monthly salons. Held the second Tuesday of every month, the salons are always free and open to the public. All salons are held at the Red Light Café. At the latest salon, independent filmmakers heard discussions ranging in topics from how to insure your indie production from insurance agent Craig Bruner, to the Ten Commandments of proposal writing from IMAGE Development Coordinator, Eric Phelps Marschalk.
