This June, LAB 601, Inc. will open a new 9,000 square foot post production facility in Atlanta with five editing/compositing suites and a large HD surround sound theater. The new facility, located in a renovated ice cream factory on North Avenue in Midtown, will offer the latest non-linear tools seamlessly linked into an integrated whole. On opening day, the LAB apparatus will include two Avid Media Composer 9000xls, an Avid Symphony 2.1 Universal, a Softimage DS and more than a terabyte of storage.

The two MC9000xls at LAB 601 are the top of the legendary Media Composer line. Both machines are capable of 24p offline and editing in uncompressed 601 video. They are connected to the Unity along with the Symphony 2.1 Universal. It is capable of editing in 24p and outputting NTSC or PAL, 16:9 or 4:3, letterbox or pan-and-scan, making it perfect for film projects and clients who need multiple masters in a variety of formats, standards, and aspect ratios.
