James Powell has been promoted to Senior On-line Editor at Magick Lantern. James has been night editor and daytime assistant for many years. Many clients have changed their schedules to nights just to work with James. When he’s not out fishing for that trophy bass, he’s in Edit B at Magick along with Edit Assistant Brooks O’Kelley.
Magick Lantern recently worked with well known sports commentators John Madden and Pat Summerall in the post production of The Blockbuster 17th Annual All Madden Team. Working with Oasis Recording’s Bob Gillespie, post production producer Amy Henderson coordinated the Atlanta based post production for the program. The Blockbuster 17th Annual All Madden Team was part of the Super Bowl XXXIV pregame festivities and showcased the best NFL players of the 1999 season. The program was produced by Gary Lag and John Ward of Fox Sports, and aired Sunday, January 30th at 1:00pm Eastern time on the Fox Network.
Magick Lantern’s new Mac G4 in the brand new AfterEffects and Digital Design Suite has been cooking overtime. Jonathan Sargent has been working non-stop since the new super computer arrived in November. Some of the work he’s done includes making video look like film for Little Mammoth Media, creating 3-D light effects for Verilux, flame-type compositing for the Atlanta Thrashers, and great animation effects for Cartoon Network, Rich’s, and WMA. The design suite is integrated with Magick’s Quantel HAL suite for awesome rotoscoping, compositing, and animation.
Magick’s Hal artists, Rob Jameson and Jonathan Sargent helped their client, Cartoon Network Latin America win two big awards at the recent PROMAX & BDA conference. There was a Gold Award for “Rosie the Robot,” and a Silver for “New In ‘99.” Both pieces had graphic design and post work done at Magick.
