From APP to GPP – It’s Still Film and Tape From APP to GPP – It’s Still Film and Tape
What used to be the Atlanta Production Partnership (APP) is now the Georgia Production Partnership (GPP). Formed in 1996, the group originated as an Atlanta based coalition of local business owners, production department heads, union business agents, producers, government representatives, and film and videotape industry professionals who meet on a regular basis. Responding to a drop in production and loss of infrastructure in the Georgia market in the mid ‘90s, APP was established to create a focused approach to how the Georgia film and tape industry operated and marketed itself.
Under its new structure, the group will now include filmmakers and film industry executives from across the state. The meetings will continue to provide a public, yet high level forum to discuss what the local industry must do in order to remain competitive and viable force within the motion picture and videotape industry.
Shay Bentley-Griffin, Casting Director and former Marketing Representative for the Georgia Film & Videotape Office, will serve as president. Matt Timmons, CEO/Operations Manager of PC&E Lighting & Grip, will serve as Vice President. The GPP membership consists of representatives from the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), Teamsters Local 728, ITS, and other industry leaders.
