Fletcher Martin Ewing PR is helping the Partnership for a Drug Free America tackle the issue of youth drug use with the recent release of a national media campaign. The campaign, which encourages young people not to smoke marijuana with the theme, “When you get high, you hurt the ones who love you the most…” FME was chosen to develop the national print and television campaign during a national search.
FME also promoted longtime employees Mark Wheeler and Alicia Thompson to agency Account Supervisors. Wheeler, a ten-year PR and marketing communications veteran, previously worked as an Account Executive for the William Mills Agency, where he specialized in business-to-business communications and financial industry accounts. At FME, he supervises business-to-business accounts including Best Manufacturing, a health care glove manufacturer; ChoicePoint, a single source risk management information service for business and government; and BioLab, Inc., an international specialty chemical manufacturer and marketer. Wheeler’s by-lined report for Best Manufacturing recently took the 1999 Phoenix Outstanding Project award.
Thompson’s PR and marketing history includes work for Cohn & Wolfe/Atlanta, Great American Cookies, and The Coca-Cola Company. She has also been a community leader, spearheading service projects involving The Samaritan House, Atlanta’s Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. She received the 1999 Young Professional of the Year Award from the Atlanta Ad Club. Thompson is also a member of the Buckhead Business Association Leadership Class of 1998-99. Her current national accounts include Sprint PCS, Georgia 100’s Mentor Exchange, Winner’s International, and Cellular South, Mississippi’s leading wireless service provider.
