TBS’s Myrna Moore Honored TBS’s Myrna Moore Honored

Myrna Moore, Director of Community Affairs for Turner Entertainment Networks, is the recipient of a Pioneer Black Journalist Award in Community/Public Affairs Television, given by the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists. Her Super 17 story on Robert and Martha Barber of The Atlanta Step Up Society won recognition during the 23rd Annual Pioneer Black Journalist Awards. Super 17 is an ongoing program honoring 17 individuals for their achievement and community service.

Moore joined the public affairs department in 1994 as an Associate Producer of public affairs magazine show Between the Lines. She now oversees community outreach on behalf of the Superstation to increase the station’s impact in Atlanta. She also serves as Project Coordinator for special community video projects. Moore has previously received national recognition for her work, including the Media Access Award for Public Affairs Reporting, four regional Emmy awards, Honorable Mention for American Women in Radio and Television Commendation Awards, and a Scripps Howard National Journalism Award for Literacy.
