WestWayne/Atlanta is in this business for the long run; at least when they’re working on the new Russell Athletic print ads. The ads highlight Russell Athletic’s longevity with lines like, “You’ll never have to buy version 2.0,” “Can’t Commit to a Relationship? Start with a Sweatshirt,” and “Lasts Two Lifetimes or Your Money Back.” The Russell print ads will debut in May issues of magazines including ESPN The Magazine, Cooking Light, Family Circle, Fitness, BET’s Heart & Soul, Self, Golf Digest, Field & Stream, and Rolling Stone.

Creative Credits for the Russell Athletic effort include, Luke Sullivan, Creative Director, Kelley Lear, Art Director, Mike Lear, Copywriter, Cheryl Howard, Print Production, Steven Lane, Account Executive, Jan Dwyer, Traffic Manager, and Chris Collins Photography, New York.

West Wayne has also appointed three senior level people to positions in the integrated marketing communications agency. Will Thomason is the new Senior VP/ Account Director in account management. He is transferring from the Tampa office where he held the same position. He is responsible for the BellSouth Yellow Pages account. Corey Fields has been appointed to Senior Brand Planner on the Russell Athletic and University of Phoenix accounts. He comes from Leo Burnett in Chicago where he worked on Reebok, Service Merchandise, Oldsmobile, Nintendo, and Coca-Cola. Laura Griffith has also been appointed a Senior Brand Planner on the BellSouth Cellular account. She comes from Fallon McElligott, Minneapolis, where she was an account planner. Her responsibilities include building strategic framework for the account and giving strategic counsel to the client in areas outside of advertising.
