And what creatives they are! They can even make the Girl Scouts more exciting. It’s a common enough sight: a Girl Scout at the door delivering cookies. But what about a Girl Scout with green hair, green eyes, and green nail polish to match? This is the new face gracing the group’s print ads. Not the ‘50s version of the pink faced, blond, Shirley Temple curly haired child. This is the face of the 21st century created by WestWayne and Deeley Trimble & Co. The first ad depicts the green girl with a caption that reads, “Yeah, we’re still green. But a lot else has changed.” Another shows a young girl’s shoulder bearing a green Girl Scout tattoo and reads “We’re just as committed as ever. Are you?” A departure from the classic look for the girls, the mission for the campaign was to attract younger volunteers and to convey the changing face of the organization steeped in Americana. The posters will be posted in coffeehouses, trendy fashion shops, and other places where young, potential scout leaders live and work. The print campaign’s credits are: Chief Creative Officer Roy Trimble, Senior Creative Director Theresa Dovan, Writer Jaye Davis, Art Director Theresa Dovan, Production Company Tucker Castleberry/Atlanta, Producer Donna Smith, VP, Account Director Karlenne and Deeley Trimble and Senior Account Executive Rachael Cohen.
