Who knew the High Museum was downtown? Or at least part of it. The High is looking to Unityville, a branding and design group, to strengthen and increase awareness of the High Museum of Art Folk Art and Photography Gallery located in the Georgia-Pacific Center on Peachtree Street. The campaign will begin with an upcoming folk art exhibit, “Local Heroes: Painting and Sculpture” by Sam Doyle.

Though just a few minutes away from their compound in midtown, The High’s downtown annex, dedicated to folk art, is relatively unknown. The crusade for awareness is a unique one for the High, different from their traditional advertising pallate. The series of ads Unityville has developed use hand drawn line and scribbles to convey the tone of the art. “We want people to feel how loose and raw the work is just by looking at the ads,” says Unityville’s Chad Crowley, looking to create attention by making a twist. Who said advertising is not art?
