Out on a Limb for a Good Cause Out on a Limb for a Good Cause
Closet musicians, artists and comedians outed themselves for the Creative Club’s (CCA) first ever “Art for Money,” event. Atlanta’s creatives met at PC&E to entertain their guffawing and galumphing peers. Performances ranged from comedic routines to musical acts invoking the spirit of Elvis Presley. A silent art auction became a lively race to the finish. The result of the night’s festivities was a $4,500 contribution to the Lillian DuMont Foundation, a crisis relief resource for Georgia’s communication arts industry. Roy Trimble, CCA’s President, said, “People felt good about giving and had fun doing it. And amazingly, it was all legal. I hope this will become an annual event.”
Emcees present were Jim Osterman of Osterman, etc., Peggy Redfern of Austin Kelley Advertising and Guy Tucker of Ask Guy Tucker. Performing live on stage was Sawyer Riley Compton’s band, “The Delinquent Timesheets,” with back up singers, “The Papercuts.” “Doofus Divas,” a karoake team, was comprised of Freelance Writer, Judy David, Fletcher Martin Ewing’s Suzanne Harkness, KilgannonMcReynold’s Rena Kilgannon, and T.G. Madison’s Joanne Truffelman. Also appearing on the stage of talent, Steve Baskin of RealEstate.com, Michael Palma of Creative Search and Kurt Tausche of Tausche, Inc.
