Guillotine Post has a new location at One Virginia Hill, overlooking those cyclists at Piedmont Park. The new facility outdoes their former Telephone Factory Loft, weighing in at almost double the size at 4,000 square feet. At an Open House on October 21, guests will see Guillotine’s expanded editing and graphic operations, multiple meeting/presentation room, and an art gallery where two to three fine artists will be featured a year. Kipp McIntyre is the first to enjoy this honor. His work will be on display from September until February 2001.
Joining forces with Guillotine in the new building is The Media Kitchen. Multimedia veterans, Tim Marker and Tony Casadonte will provide graphics for interactive and video.
Guillotine’s recent past has included spots for TNT’s latest original production, “Bull.” Promoting a new Wall Street oriented drama, the spot encouraged CNN/fn viewers to enter a contest. Contestants compete online by playing the stock market; the winner wins a vacation to New York, the home of Wall Street and bullish businessmen. The spot was produced by Michelle Thiesen and John Davidson and edited by Michael Koepenick. Koepenick also finished spots promoting Turner South’s new WCW Classics which featured wrestling icon, Dusty Rhoads. Bill Taft acted as Writer/Producer and Christo Harris helped Koepenick with editing. Also for Turner South, Guillotine handled production and post duties for Live! From the Bluebird Backyard Barbecue. Contestants sparred for the opportunity to host a taping of the show in their own backyard.
BlueMarbleMedia did some editing at Guillotine this summer. Producer Ben Barineau worked with Editor Jimmy Milans to post a piece for technology design center Yamacraw. Developed by ad agency MATCH, Inc., the video features Georgians speaking the “language of technology design” and intends to attract technology firms to the state. BlueMarble also worked at Guillotine on projects for Worldspan, CheckFree, Hines, and Cumberland Mall.
