The Magazine Association of Georgia (MAG) presented the Grand GAMMA Award to Georgia Review. This year’s competition took the cake, breaking all previous records with 354 entries from MAG member magazines. Awards chair, Leara Rhodes, Ph.D. of the University of Georgia coordinated the entries and judging which was done by the magazine journalism department at University of Missouri. The awards presentation was held at the Marietta Conference Center on June 1-2. Two new members were inducted into the MAG Hall of Fame this year: Tina D’Aversa-Williams of Bill Communications Atlanta and Tom Casey of Atlanta Metropolitan Publishing.
Atlanta’s darling, Oz Magazine, came in with Gold for Best Cover in the Business to Business category for the May/June 1999 issue and a Bronze for Best Single Issue in the Business to Business category for the July/August 1999 Creative Index.
