The Atlanta chapter of the Society for Technical Communications won the 1999-2000 Chapter Achievement Award at the Society’s 47th Awards Banquet in Orlando.This is the first time one chapter has received this award three years in a row. Kudos! The award citation reads: “For your phenomenal commitment to improving and expanding your scope of service, for your activities supporting students and education, and for the impressive depth of your achievements and volunteerism at the chapter, regional, and society levels.”

And kudos to Carol M. Barnum, Ph.D. Barnum was awarded the Jay. R. Gould Award for Excellence in teaching technical communication. The award is presented annually in recognition of faculty in technical communication for extraordinary contributions to the classroom. Barnum is Professor of Humanities and Technical Communication at Southern Polytechnic State University, a fellow of STC, and past president of the chapter.
