Summer brought many changes to Artifact beyond tans and vacations to the shore. Moving to a larger facility within King Plow, Artifact also launched a new department focusing on web and interactive design. Growing in the veritable ‘Season of the Web,’ the Interactive Media Department will emphasize specialty web sites with attention on design and motion graphics. Tanner Critz, who has been with the Computer Studio for three and a half years, will head up the design team as Director of Interactive Media. Of the division’s impact, GM, Kevin Wild, said, “With bandwidth and connections increasing, television and web sites will continue to look more and more alike. Artifact, with its specialty being design and animation for television, is perfectly positioned to design quality motion graphics for the web.”
Other ‘Arti-notes:’ Delaram Koushyar has been promoted to Graphic Designer from Design Assistant. Project wise, Artifact has completed a spot for TBS International Ad Sales featuring Motorola’s new “WAP” technology phones, as well as TBS’s new “Afternoon Movie” campaign and a Cartoon Network giveaway spot featuring a Cybiko hand held computer which reeled in 2.2 million calls from viewers.
