Hans Neleman, noted for obscuring the line between commercial work and personal/artistic expression, spoke at the Creative Circus in October. Neleman is a part of the many events scheduled for “Atlanta Celebrates Photography.” Born in Rotterdam and trained in London, Neleman began as a painter, photographing still-life set-ups for reference purposes. He discovered this process was a more direct and immediate method of artistic expression. Though his processes may be edgy, clients like American Express, Sony, Levi’s and Nestle have demanded his services. Spanning ‘corporate’ and ‘artistic,’ he has been sought after by art directors and curators alike.
