AUX TV is Hot AUX TV is Hot

AUX TV’s summer schedule was dotted with MTV news clips, performance videos, a mockumentary, promos, commercials, and show opens. Creative Director, Mark Falls recently completed scripting and production on an MTV news clip for the announcement of new music label, Melisma Records. In addition, Falls wrote and directed a ‘mockumentary’ for the label’s debut at the BMG Convention in Toronto. After a successful video background for Matchbox 20’s concert tour, Melisma Records returned to work with Falls, Michael Tew, and Jay Bellissimo on background video for live performances for their industry peer, Angie Aparo. The AUX team designed graphics, shot and edited video imagery, and developed color treatments and text effects for the artist’s tour. “Mark, Jay, and I created abstract imagery which underlined Angie’s songs. He’s sort of an electric folk artist so we tried to create background video that emphasized his songs,” said Tew, who has also spent his summer months working on spots for Coke, McDonald’s, American Cancer Society, and Cartoon Network.

Falls’ summer also included designing graphics for several sponsored segments on CNN International and a collaboration with Turner South Creative Director, Pat Smith and Executive Producer, John Parry to create the open and graphics package for the network’s new original series, “Liars & Legends” (premiered in September). Editor Bellissimo created promos and interstitial programming for cable networks, Turner Classic Movies and Home and Garden Television. “Footwork,” which aired during TCM’s Dance Month and showcased the talents of the light-footed from the golden past of film: Fred Astaire, Gene Kelley, Cyd Charisse, Ann Miller, Donald O’Connor and a host of contract hoofers from the ‘Golden Age of Musicals.’ He also edited a TCM segment on Director, Stanley Kramer, narrated by Jonathan Winter, and promos for the HGTV series, “If Walls Could Talk” and “Decorating with Style.”

It wasn’t all hard work. AUX employees took a few Friday afternoons this summer to enjoy another classic – the Martini. On September 28, AUX took a few hours to celebrate and to entertain industry peers with DJs, martinis, and conversation. Talk flowed, wine flowed and AUX’s ‘pad’ sparkled with beautiful people.
