Hingepoint has been signed on to create logo and marketing kits for WCW’s monthly pay per view shows until March 2001. Responsible for not only logo creation, Hingepoint has assisted WCW in creating marketing kits to send to cable operators and/or their affiliates. Per the design shop’s suggestion and management, CD-ROMS, posters, and premium items (from t-shirts to action figures) were added to the marketing kits the network sends out. The kits are distributed 3 months in advance of the show, so the Hingepoint crew is responsible for creating an overall theme well in advance. The logos created for each monthly event will be used on air, in merchandising, and on the web. When they began working with WCW on this campaign in July, the look had a distinct “pop art feel to it,” said Project Manager, Tracy Buchanan. More recently, the look has been toned down, with a simpler use of colors but varnish has been used throughout.
