You Give an Eye and You Get a Peek You Give an Eye and You Get a Peek
As part of Atlanta’s All-Star Ball sponsorship surrounding the Major League Baseball 2000 All-Star Game, companies were given the opportunity to create an eye in their vision. Several companies elected to be sponsors of these baseballs. iXL showed off their creativity with a truly techno eye. The seven-foot Eye XL i-ball is one of three oversized baseballs iXL secured. Now post-season, the ball’s home is Buckhead hangout Three Dollar Café. The iris which faces the deck holds a high-tech camera that posts a real time digital photograph every thirty seconds at www.allstarball.com/ixl. The ball will be in place through the end of the 2000 baseball season, when each company will have the opportunity to auction their ball to charity. iXL plans to participate, but has not yet determined which charity to support.
The eye of iXL is changing. Victor Lamm has taken over Atlanta operations at the helm of iXL, Inc.’s management team. As General Manager, in place of Doug Pendergast, Lamm will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Atlanta office in the delivery of transformational ‘e-solutions’ for iXL clients. Lamm has had 25 years experience with consulting organizations, and software firms. Prior to joining iXL, Lamm spent three years at Oracle where he was responsible for Consulting Risk Management activities for the company’s East Coast e-commerce consulting programs. He also acted as President/CEO of Step One Technology and Black Light Group, two of his own technology transfer and business development companies. Promotions in iXL’s Film & Video Division have made two people very happy. Carolyn Cole-Salisbury, formerly Managing Executive Producer/Director of the division, is now Executive Director of iXL Film & Video Creative. Salisbury bridges traditional film and video techniques with Digital Media technologies. In February 2000, she was nominated for “Woman of the Year in Technology,” a professional awards program sponsored by the Technology Association of Georgia. Prior to joining ranks at iXL, Cole-Salisbury worked at Kragie Newell/Atlanta where she spent four years as Creative Director of broadcast. Her resume also includes writing, producing, and directing for ad agencies Fahlgren Martin and Babbit & Reiman. Client work includes Andersen Consulting, Cellular One, Fountainhead Water, International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau, and NAPA Auto Parts. Her awards and recognition include the International Television and Video Association, The Addy Awards, and the Telly Association. Jeff Gray’s promotion moves the 18-year veteran of broadcast television production, creative direction, and station management from Executive Producer to Executive Director of iXL Film & Video Production. Gray’s clients have included the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Chase Merchant Services, Hands-on-Atlanta 10th Anniversary Presentation, LaPorte Spa and Pool Chemicals and Scientific Atlanta. Before moving under iXL’s gloried roof, Gray served as Station Manager at WICZ-TV in New York as well as Creative Services Director at network affiliated stations in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and St. Louis. He was also Manager of On-Air Promotions at the FOX Network in Los Angeles where he was responsible for advertising and promotion for the news magazine program “Front Page” and for shows such as “America’s Most Wanted” and “COPS.” Gray began his career in cable access production and moved on to serve as Producer/Director in New York City at Showtime/The Movie Channel and WPIX-TV. His work has earned multiple nominations and award wining Emmy and Promax Gold Medallion Awards.
