Filmmaker, Narcel G. Reedus screened his new film “The Secret of Passionate Love” in September at the Angelika Film Center at the Independent Feature Film Market in New York. A feature length project constructed in three short films, Reedus used Atlanta actors, Arienne Battiste and Jay Jones. Battiste and Jones play Elise Williams and James Reed respectively, two angels banished from heaven for falling in love. The angels are sent to earth as a married couple to test their love. Of the project, Reedus says, it “will be my ballad to God, romance, love and passion.”
Reedus’ inspiration for the script came while he was lying a stretcher in an emergency room. As soon as he was released from the hospital, he rushed home to begin writing the script focused “on a couple who knew they shared something ancient and sacred but were unable to realize it until they experienced losing it forever.”
