Multimedia students of The Art Institute of Atlanta assembled in a computer lab in July to compete for a paid internship with Online Information, an Atlanta web development company. Students had to demonstrate their skills given client requirements and the press of a real deadline. Eleven competitors were “hired” by a high-tech real estate company to construct a clean, easily navigable web site conveying security, convenience, comfort, and connectivity. The sites were judged by Online Information President, Richard Palmer. Jared England, a fourth quarter student received top honors and will begin his internship in the fall. Second place went to a team comprised of Paula Panter, a fourth quarter student and Kathryn Ann Hill, a sixth quarter student. Christopher Altman, a third quarter student and Java Mehta, a second quarter student formed the third place team. Each team member received a gift certificate to amazon.com.
