Groove is Essential Groove is Essential

Atlanta’s movers and shakers, modern hipsters, and yuppies are always on the lookout for new places to hang, be seen, and to see. Order up a Cosmo at the new TEN27, located in Pasta Da Pulcinella’s old stomping grounds on 10th street. The club caters to mature professionals but not to pretension. Decorated to the hilt, the club is being promoted by Groove Essentials who handles special events including music and all that jazz, coordinating functions from fashion shows to art installations, to performing arts. Wayne Briggs of the Groove has worked with many industry folks including Arrested Development. Briggs also organized a book release party for Kevin Powell (from the first season of MTV’s Real World). From Los Angeles to the West Indies to Paris to, finally, Atlanta, Briggs has worked with numerous venues and artists. Finding what he does difficult to define, he titles himself an “philanthropic promoter”

Diamond Lounge and One 3 Graphics have helped promote the new hot spot with flyers. Owner, Mimi Hawariat has put her finger on design of the club with an ultra-modern stainless steel bar juxtaposed with a dark wood, good ol’ church pew. Cutting in to the movie scene, the club hosted the rap party for Michael Valverde’s independent film, “Losing Grace.” If you’re in, you’re in TEN27!
