Turner Broadcasting’s Spirit of Volunteerism Turner Broadcasting’s Spirit of Volunteerism

Encouraged by a grand turnout for last year’s community service day, TBS, Inc. officially implemented TV Day. The company initiative, which spans five cities and two countries, celebrates the company’s history of volunteerism with a day devoted to volunteering activities. Over 1,600 employees participated in the day’s events.

Hingepoint helped Turner turn it out for the day of philanthropy. Hingepoint transformed the spirit of volunteerism into graphics and promotional material including posters, flyers and a micro-site. As part of the multi-media approach, Hingepoint created an outfit – for MARTA buses to wear. Ketchum handled distribution of the press kits.

Employees at Turner sites mobilized and engaged in a variety of volunteering activities. Atlanta employees cleaned the Chattahoochee and MARTA stations as part of their volunteer itinerary. Other stops were the Atlanta Community Food Bank, My Sister’s House, Carrie Steele-Pitts, Grady High School, Hughes Spalding, MLK, Jr. Highrise, and Piedmont Park. Kozmo.com, MARTA, Z93, and Centennial Olympic Park partnered with TBS.

The Hingepoint team recently switched rooms at the King Plow Arts Center. In November, they left their old watering hole and relocated to Studio C. They welcome the 6,000 square feet space, twice the size of their previous space. And they brought the climbing wall along with them.
