The International Television Association (ITVA) is now the Media Communications Association. The change was approved by the association’s international Board of Directors during their annual conference. The local chapter has already made most of its changes and plans to leave its old name behind in January of 2001 when they launch their new website. Billy Pilgrim, the chapter’s current President said, “Basically, the name change reflects the fact that our base of membership is no longer just straight video. Many of our members are now doing their work in multimedia and on the web. Creatively and professionally, it’s a more diverse community, and the change allows us to invite members previously shut out by our outdated name.”
