With a Coca-Cola and a smile, Triple Horse Productions will be taking moviegoers into some scary territory this fall. Resurrecting Universal Studio’s classic characters, Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Wolfman, Triple Horse created Coca-Cola’s pre-feature entertainment presentation with a twist… No real monsters. Behind the masks are faces usually seen flying down Nascar’s track. The spot sped into production in May when the Coca-Cola Company and Universal Studios waved the green flag.

Triple Horse’s Scenic Department constructed five major sets from Universal’s classic horror films including a dungeon, a science lab, fog-heavy woods, and a desert scene replete with pyramids and a full size sarcophagus. Karl Horstmann, said, “We worked real hard to make it a fun shoot… this was always first and foremost about entertainment. What we’ve found out is that when you make that a priority everything else falls into place.”

In addition to playing monsters, the Coca-Cola racing team including Dale Earnhardt, Dale Jarrett, Bill Elliott, Steve Park, Tony Stewart, Bobby Labonte, and Jeff Burton also got to reenact scenes from Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” and “Psycho” and invoke the master himself. Joining Triple Horse’s crew, members of the pit crew included Mike Tremble, producing for Todd A/O Editworks and Beth Monahan, producing for Coca-Cola.
