Endeavoring to maintain a presence in Hollywood and effectively in the entertainment industry, the Georgia Film & Videotape Office held a party in Los Angeles. The “Georgia Night in LA” was held at the Hollywood based Interlock Studios. Over 200 industry professionals stopped in. Partygoers included LA based producers, directors who have filmed in Georgia, television executives, commercial and music video producers, and stars with leading roles in movies filmed in Georgia. While attendees enjoyed party staples – food, music, and general festivity – footage of movies filmed in Georgia played on oversized screens surrounding the studio.

Film Office Director, Greg Torre hopes to make the event an annual one. “Ultimately, it was a great opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate Georgia production talent as well as expose Los Angeles executives to the tremendous opportunity that awaits them in Georgia.” Since April 1998, when Torre took his current position, he has brought a number of films to the state including “Remember the Titans,” “The General’s Daughter,” “The Gift,” “Road Trip,” and “Legend of Bagger Vance,” filmed in Savannah and Jekyll Island, care of industry heavy, Robert Redford.
