Matassa Promotes the Grinch Matassa Promotes the Grinch
Matassa New Media recently completed a :60 spot, a fictitious movie trailer promoting a Cartoon Network series. The spot will air before “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Stuart Hill, Copywriter for the spot entitled “Sheep in the Big City,” said, “To say this project led a more charmed life than George W. Bush is an understatement. Director Bruce Hurwit and DP Tom Krueger gave us an incredible amount of beautiful footage, near enough to make a movie with. And Michael Matassa has the impossible task of cutting it to sixty seconds… what he gave us was brilliant… I’m getting chills even now, and I’m dressed in layers.”
Matassa said, “What a blast to cut a trailer for a movie that doesn’t exist. My job was to make the promo for a new cartoon series look like the latest action flick. I pulled out all the editing tricks on this one.”
Atlanta credits include Cartoon Network’s Evan Adler, Senior Producer; Stuart Hill, Senior Writer; Michael Ouweleen, Creative Director. Mattasa offered the services of Michael Matassa, Editor; Azita Ayagh, Editor, and Jessica Black, Producer. Spin Productions offered visual effect help and online editing with Inferno Artist Keith Adams. Crawford Productions was responsible for transfer with Artist DC Cardinali. A NY production company, Crossroads Film, and a Canadian production company, Avion Films, also assisted with the project.
