New Chair for Print Industry New Chair for Print Industry
The Printing Industry Association of Georgia (PIAG) recently named 2001’s Chairman, Michael D. First, President and CEO of Graphcom, Inc. First has been a part of Atlanta’s printing industry since 1987 when he founded Graphcom. The University of Richmond graduate and certified public accountant has led his company from a one press, 10 employee venture to a six press venture with three locations worth almost $10 million in sales.
The company has enjoyed four years of double digit growth. Spurred by their success, First tripled the size of his production facility, moving the company to adapt. Graphcom began operating in its new facility at Defoor Hills Road in mid-December. With their new equipment and new digs, Graphcom is eager to show off and to party with clients and friends. The company scheduled an open house in mid February.
For those of us who look for printers while under the weight of details, the PIAG has printed its annual guide to lighten the load. The “2001 Georgia Print Buyers Guide” is a resource for Georgia’s printing and graphic arts companies. The directory cross references over 600 graphic art firms by the products and services they offer.
