IMAGE Film & Video Center recently announced that Regal Cinemas will sponsor the 25th Anniversary of the Atlanta Film & Video Festival (AFVF). The main venue for the festival will be Regal Cinemas Hollywood 24.
Regal Cinemas recently sponsored Out on Film 2000, the 13th annual Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. This year’s event provided seats for nearly 3,700 audience members. This year’s AFVF will feature premiere screenings of new films and videos and also take a retrospective look at past festival winners. Seminars, panel discussion, and guest appearances will also be offered. Over $65,000 in cash and in kind prizes will be awarded. Award winning short works screened in the AFVF are eligible for Academy Award nomination.
The AFVF is supported in part by grants from the City of Atlanta Bureau of Cultural Affairs, the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as national and local businesses.
