That is Sooo Mummy That is Sooo Mummy

Some Atlantans are getting the opportunity of a lifetime – to be among the first to view a centuries old mummy. Known as Ramses I, scientists believe he may be the grandfather of the fabled Ramses II, reputed Pharaoh of the biblical exodus, and the father of King Sethi.

Zoë TV began production on a documentary for NOVA investigating this figure of myth and science in January. Producer/Writer Jonathan Wickham, as part of the project, explores genetic and other scientific evidence in the attempt to uncover the mummy’s true identity. Wickham collaborated with LAB 601 President Dave Ballard to cut the promotional reel on 601’s Symphony Universal. The piece was used to pitch the documentary’s educational value to NOVA’s executives.

LAB 601 reports the return of the multi-cam, with the latest revision of AVID’s Media Composer software, version 10. The feature allows eager editors to view up to nine simultaneous sources in one window, simplifying shot selection. Producer Julia White of the Southern Center for International Studies visited the LAB to take full advantage of the new feature. White used the multi-cam in the program, a roundtable discussion forged by former Secretaries of Health and Human Services. The nearly three hour, eight camera shoot was loaded from each of the eight camera tapes and grounded for multi-cam editing. Once the multi-cam cut was finalized, b-roll from archival and library sources was added. The program will be broadcast nationally on public broadcasting stations.
