For the third consecutive year, Cartoon Network On-Air has hired the audio post production talents of Soapbox Studio’s Michael Kohler for sweetening and sound effects editing for their “Big Game Superbowl Show.” Among the show’s stars are Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. Completed in six weeks, the project was produced in Soapbox Studio’s five digital audio rooms on Protools 5.0 and was packed with NFL Sonic Search sound effects.

Production Manager Ashley Nixon assembled a host of characters for the show including legendary football commentators Pat Summerall and John Madden. The supporting cast included Entertainment Tonight’s Mary Hart as well as Dr. Drew, Chris Collinsworth, and Quarterback Dan Marino. Producers on the project were Dave Drebeck and Chris Kelly.

Soapbox is celebrating some recent award wins. For the second consecutive year, Engineer Dan Schaefer brought home one gold award and two silvers from the Promax & BDA Latin America award show held in Miami. Schaefer won a gold in the Best On-Air Program Campaign for a project entitled, “New Image Campaign.” The second silver was a promo piece for TNT Latin America in the Best Station Image Promo for the movie, “The Bodyguard.” Ariel Guntern and Cayetana Vidal of TNT Latin America produced for all the projects.

Soapbox has also been awarded the audio post production for Meineke’s national television campaign featuring Meineke commercial veteran, George Foreman. The spot was directed by Bob Egle for Malone Advertising and massaged by Flying Fish Productions, The Chopping Block, and Spin Productions. Editorial was completed off line by AVID Editor Jennifer Kearns. Keith Adams handled all Inferno work. The spot is currently airing.

The Soapbox crew finished more commercial work in conjunction with Raleigh, North Carolina’s newspaper, “The Post & Courier.” Under the creative direction of Peter Richardson and the NC ad agency Rawle-Murdy & Associates, a commercial campaign for the newspaper was launched. The spot is scheduled to air in North Carolina within the next few months. Soapbox handled audio and video post production. The agency visits Atlanta periodically to work with Jennifer Kearns and her company, The Chopping Block which is housed within the Soapbox walls.
