No show in 2000 is more deserving of parody than CBS’s popular s series, “Survivor.” PowerVision Productions took the line with the creation of a commercial spoof for 99X. The spot will promote the Survivor II Ultimate Challenge Sweepstakes with Morning X celebs Barnes, Leslie Fram, and Jimmy Baron. The fun included impersonations of “Survivor’s” now infamous contestants promoting McDonald’s and other sweepstakes giveaways.
Producer Stuart Grimes brought in Art Director Michelle Ihnot to recreate the “Survivor” look with living trees, a working campfire, and tiki torches. Director Michael A. Jones and Director of Photography Bill Burton shot 35mm Kodak Vision stock incorporating jib shots and a handheld camera. The spot is scheduled to air on CBS throughout the entire “Survivor II” season.
