Tabula Rasa, a post production, graphic design, and interactive media firm, is launching EdgeClips.com, a royalty free motion graphics stock footage company. Founder Michael Curtis, formerly of Tube, said, “Our libraries represent one of the best values on the web... Most stock footage sites are very heavily weighted toward traditional motion film footage, and what few graphic products they do have appear very dated in terms of style and content. We’re providing edgier looks while keeping each library extremely cost effective.”

The e-commerce startup provides high end motion backgrounds for cross platform use, available in both NTSC and PAL standards in full frame background elements and stills. The clincher is that customers can use the backgrounds as often as necessary with only a one time purchase price.

Edgeclips rolled out its first two graphic libraries, “Rhythm in Blues” and “Technoplasm” in late February. Sample movies and full frame stills will be available online for review before purchase. Curtis’ hopes for the venture are high because he feels he fills an unsatiated hole in Atlanta’s creative community. “To my knowledge, we’re the only web-based stock footage provider that offers to fully customize backgrounds for our clients if they need us to. Those two things instantly separate us from the pack in terms of motion graphics on the web.”
