Caterpillar Footwear Group, (Cat) a division of Michigan based Wolverine World Wide hired T.G. Madison Advertising for their 2001 advertising program for Cat work footwear. The global manufacturer and marketer of non-athletic footwear selected T.G. Madison after a formal review. The company’s footwear is sold in over 130 countries spanning six continents with the industrial heritage the company built its equipment brand on.
T.G.’s assignment will be to leverage awareness and promote consumption of the footwear through Caterpillar Inc.’s NASCAR sponsorship of the #22 Winston Cup Series car, driven by Ward Burton. T.G. will produce television and print advertising featuring Burton. The campaign is expected to break in the fall of 2001. T.G. Chairman Joanne Truffelman said, “We’re thrilled to expand our presence in the retail category with one of the most unique brands in the world. Cat Footwear enjoys distinctive, powerful brand imagery. Our job will be to increase awareness and to see those boots!”
