Three Squared Encodes Festival Three Squared Encodes Festival
three squared was selected as the encoding sponsor for the first Internet World Media and Entertainment Festival, part of the 2001 Internet World Convention and the Digitization & Distribution of Media and Entertainment (D2ME) conference in Los Angeles. The Internet World ME Festival, an online festival of media and entertainment, ran live leading up to the Internet World 2001.
Entries, encoded by three squared’s team, were judged by Hollywood executives and the internet public in the following categories: short film, animation, web series, web advertisement, and experimental. D2ME worked with Joy A. Kennelly, Event Producer, Artistic Director, and Founder of Short Pictures International Film Festival.
three squared can call itself one of the first. One of the first to offer GlobalStreams technology, that is. The new technology means feature based live broadcasts over all popular mediums at a lower price. The GlobeCaster is a portable production studio designed for live or on demand programming. President Shane King says, “With the growing popularity of live webcasts and video on demand, streaming media is driving the next generation of corporate communication.” A study done by Edison Media Research showed that sound and video do indeed make a more compelling website. Perhaps the greatest influence on streaming media will be consumers’ demand for dynamic internet content.
Following the imminent explosion of streaming media, GlobeCaster’s suite requires less personnel, less equipment, and enables multi-camera switching, professional tilting tools, and effects completed in one box. three squared has been named the Southeastern preferred production partner for GlobalStreams. With easier production, more energy can be put toward the encoding process, which three squared hopes will mean more dynamic, interactive sites. The company also recently announced an agreement with SpectraRep to provide satellite acquisition services for remote production/webcasting. To accommodate all their added offerings, three squared opened a second location at the beginning of May. The new facility will house production work, studio productions, live webcasting, and encoding services.
In March, three squared pulled off the Atlanta Business Hall of Fame event at Turner Field in conjunction with Junior Achievement of Georgia. Using their new technology, three squared produced a TV awards style presentation and shot and posted videos of new inductees including Henry Aaron, local businessman John Aderhold and Home Depot’s Arthur Blank.
