Prizes Given to Circus Students Prizes Given to Circus Students

Yes, most ADDYs went to the tried and true agencies, but there was some fresh meat at the awards night held atop of Atlanta’s Apparel Mart. Creative Circus students encircling a table or two shouted and cheered their peers on as they approached the podium. Taking the gold student award were students, Hugo Meyer and Patrick Lindsey who collaborated on an ad for the NAACP. The ad twists a very current, very local subject. Playing on the fight over Georgia’s flag, Designer Meyer and Copywriter Lindsey shot a confederate flag folded into a neat triangle against a stark white background. The ad reads, “Lay it to rest.”

The art direction/copywriting student duo, Aaron Adler and Ari Weiss, also took a gold for an Aeron Chairs ad which shows two men in front of a row of urinals. A man to the right is seated comfortably on his Aeron chair which he has wheeled into the bathroom. The tagline reads, “You’ll never walk again.” Adler and Weiss took two more gold awards, one for a Head and Shoulders shampoo ad, with a shot of a completely empty Colorado snow globe. All in all, Creative Circus students ran away with 6 gold, 10 silver, and 4 merit awards.
