An Agency Is Born An Agency Is Born
Scott Frederick and Bill Swanston had an idea. They just needed a push. When Fahlgren, the holding company for Creative Foundry announced that they were going to pull funding for the ad boutique, the guys got what they needed. Creative Directors, Frederick and Swanston, began treading a path of their own and a new path for Atlanta, with a brand spankin’ new agency, Frederick Swanston.
The company doesn’t have to start from scratch though. The founders pulled a few clients from their former roster, including Andretti Speed Lab and LSI Wallcovering. The agency will also offer its services to its elder neighbors in the industry for the time being. “We’re definitely in a new business mode considering we’re in virtually a no business state at the moment,” Frederick said.
The niche the agency will fill – talent in the spirit of a big agency with the service and price of a small one. The founding team maintains that most clients cannot use all the services a big agency puts on their list of “core competencies,” but those clients still pay the price. One of their missions is to blast this conundrum into oblivion with affordable creative and service.
Together, they bring over 30 years of experience to the table. Swanston’s career spans the northeastern triad – New York, Baltimore, and Boston with stints at Hill Holliday, BBDO, and Saatchi. An Atlanta native and a Portfolio grad, Swanston has reeled awards including the One Show, CA, ADDYs, and Cannes. Frederick’s resume includes positions with Lawler Ballard, DDB Needham, and Henderson. He is responsible for campaigns for Michelin, Spray ‘n Wash, Pringles, and Fantastik.
