Retro is In Retro is In
May Day signals a big change for DemoGraphics, or what we have all known as DemoGraphics. The day includes a name change for the company, a change they feel is for the better. The RetroTechs will begin with a running start on May Day to combat the computer woes of our fair city. Co-Founder David LaMarca remarks, “We’ve always been a technology company with an old school approach to customer service, and now we have the name to match. But we didn’t stop there. We built the name into a story that exemplifies our organization. Others have always seen us as the superheroes who protect companies from their worst computer nightmares, we decided to embrace this concept in our new brand.”
We might not know exactly what it is they do to our computers or how they do it, but we’ll recognize them instantly by their new superheroic fleet of 10 bronze PT Cruisers and a name to match. The company feels the new name befits the greater story they fit into and reflects the power of their company. Opened eleven years ago, DemoGraphics was one of the first companies in Atlanta to service and support Macs. In 1989, the company collaborated with Copeland Design to produce the 1996 Olympics Bid Books, producing color comps and mechanicals while the norm was cutting and pasting on foam corm. “Our retro look supports the service mentality of the ‘50s and ‘60s when the customer was the most important part of your business,” says Co-Founder Brett Sennett. “In today’s fast paced environment the customer tends to get pushed by the wayside in lieu of business strategies, IPOs, and new technologies. The RetroTechs represent a time when the customer was King.”
