Cole Henderson Drake (CHD) represented the south and represented it well. The agency was the only southeast representative to take a Gold at the ICON Awards. Only eight Gold medals were given at the award show that honors work in technology marketing. CHD stood among the likes of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco and Fallon of Minneapolis which also accepted top honors that night.

The winning piece was a corporate brochure for client Intelispan. Metal plated, the brochure is padlocked shut with a metal chain, key attached. The concept was the security of the company’s networks. “The high tech category is full of jargon and over-hyped benefits that are not really paid off…. We recognized that if you are selling a major business service to an exe cutive level person, then the product is worthy of more than a 25 cent brochure that looks like it came from Kinko’s,” said CHD’s Managing Partner, Mike Tyre.
