Sawyer Riley Compton (SRC) walked the plank. To accept four awards at the One Show held in New York. Frank Compton said, “We believe the One Show is just the beginning of Sawyer Riley Compton’s recognition at the international level.“ Two of the four winning pieces were for SRC client, Georgia Tech on a campaign waging war on binge drinking. SRC expects the campaign to run at other Atlanta colleges and universities in the near future and is currently negotiating with the American Medical Assocation to promote the campaign nationally. D.A.R.E. members take heed, SRC is attacking your platform. The team has also completed broadcast spots in conjunction with MTV’s animation team and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America to educate on the dangers related to inhaling household products.
In addition to awards, SRC was beam ing as they welcomed the Dow Chemical Co. account. SRC will be the advertising and PR agency of record for the company’s Great Stuff line of products. Estimated billings for the project are $5 million.
SRC has also engaged in some hospitable work. The agency is helping the Ritz-Carlton announce its re-entrance in the New York market. Two ads broke in June in “New York Magazine” and “Crain’s New York Business.”
Bart Cleveland, Senior Vice President and Creative Director said, “It was our goal to perpetuate the mystique of the hotel, and as the campaign unfolds, we will show -case the unique experience of staying at either of the new Ritz-Carlton hotels in New York.” The Ritz-Carlton, Downtown New York is scheduled to open on October 15. A second property will follow in 2002. The ads all feature the Statue of Liberty, an undeniably New York icon. Of the future for client Ritz, Cleveland said, “Currently, we are concepting icon ideas for the hotel’s other properties in the Northeast.”
