Reeling in a good internship can be difficult. The American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) has made it a mission to award deserving students. The Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP) began as a way to encourage minority students to consider a career in advertising. This year, two Creative Circus students earned internships, making their alma mater the only school to place more than one creative intern. Lance McBride will intern this summer with Young and Rubicam in their New York Art Direction department. Jeanine Robinson will team with a copywriting intern from Yale University at Leo Burnett in Chicago.

Creative Circus students also hit it big at the One Show Awards held in New York. Student Copywriter, Josh Schildkraut, and Art Director, Otis Webb, received the Gold “Pencil” Award. Fellow classmate Andrew Novak placed as a finalist in the student category. Schildkraut and Webb’s winning campaign was for USA Track & Field. One of the ads features an overblown profile of a runner’s face with demarcations reading, “gold,” “silver,” and “bronze” and a tagline reading, “It’s always this close.”
